Good-bye Winter

Today is a day for kite flying! Well, maybe not! It's pretty breezy and a kite might not be able to stay aloft with all the wind that's blowing around. The wind chimes are singing merrily and tree branches are waving back and forth as if to say 'good-bye winter' and 'hello spring'! It's the time of year when the days and nights are of the exact same length. According to the U. S. Naval Observatory, tomorrow is the spring equinox for 2007. . .the first day of spring. And that makes today the last day of winter! A cause for celebration and joy! What will you do today to say good-bye to winter? Are you ready to welcome spring tomorrow?

  1. Since our spring like weather has been around now for a bit, it seems fitting to officially welcome the new season with open arms and perhaps a bit more planting. Hope all is well with you and yours.

  4. I just came back from a brisk evening walk. This morning it rained and hailed and sleeted. This afternoon the skies cleared and I said . . so long winter, I love you but it is time to go.
I just thought that the little scottie dog poem was the cutest.
