Orchard Apple Pie

2 cups grated apple
2 cups pineapple (unsweetened; canned okay)
1/4 cup softened and sweetened dates
3 1/2 Tbsp. tapioca

Cook the last three ingredients until clear. Stir in apples. Pour into pie shell. For variation, use crushed pineapple.
