Twilight Tea

A lovely week-end at Bonnie's house makes me think of words like peaceful, gracious, beautiful, hospitality, delicious, and friendly. And what a lovely week-end it was! In a house filled with near-adult sons and their friends, it's sometimes difficult to find a quiet spot to chat, but Bonnie has crafted a serene place in a corner of her Victorian front porch for quiet times. With deer nibbling on grass and leaves in the front yard, Bonnie's haven is a patio table set with a vintage tablecloth from her mother-in-law's collection, and a tea lamp that beams forth a golden glow at twilight. Yorkshire tea, fluffy scones, lime curd or strawberry and peach jam, butter and honey, all create delicious menu items for a twilight tea at the end of a busy day. Thank you, Bonnie! It was graciously hospitable. From ambiance, to conversation with a friend, sipping a cuppa tea with you was a delight.
