Amargosa Audience of Kings and Queens

Posted by Picasa

In the early days, there were times when no audience appeared at the weekly shows. But Miss Becket was not only talented in ballet, she was creative and tenatious as well. She painted the walls of the entire opera house with scenes of the 16th century, depicting an audience of those who might have attended. A King and Queen set the scene with nobility, monks and nuns, musicians, bullfighters, gypsies, governess with children, and ladies of the night. Her imagination brought the audience to life, creating elegance and charm to the opera hall.
