Teacup of the Day - Queen's Coronation

This regal teacup and saucer is a commemorative set that was made for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. She accended to the throne on February 6, 1952 upon the death of her father, King George VI. Her coronation took place the following June 2, 1953. This year marks the 80th birthday for her royal highness, the Queen of England.

I am unable to tell you the mark and maker of this teacup, as it belongs to my dear Aunt. She cherishes it, as she adores England and has traveled extensively there during summers and holidays for the past 30 years. This teacup was given to her as a gift by her son who searched antique shops in San Francisco until he found exactly the right gift for her! It is now prominently displayed as a focal point on her hutch shelf.
