Little jars of herbs and spices can be expensive. Finding them in bulk at health food stores and warehouse grocers saves much. Buy the most economical version of the herb. Seeds retain their freshness longer and are a good choice if you have them available to you. For example, buy cumin seeds, mustard seeds, allspice seeds, etc. rather than the powdered version. Usually this version is less expensive than the powdered variety.

  1. I enjoy doing this. I have some bulk herbs in pantry right now awaiting mis. A very simple taco seasoning mix I use was posted some time back. It sure can save time in the kitchen to grab one jar instead of 4or5 jars.
