No Salt Herbal Blend

1 Tbsp. each,
basil
coriander
thyme

2 tsp. each,
cumin
onion
parsley

1 tsp. each,
garlic, dried minced
mustard
paprika
cayenne (optional)*
kelp (optional)**

Mix everything together in a small coffee mill or grinder. Blend until powdery.

This savory herbal blend is handy and gives zest to meals without the addition of salt. Use in savory dishes when cooking. . .or put it in a salt shaker and set on the table as a salt substitute.

*I used 1/2 the amount of cayenne as it has quite abit of bite!

**Kelp adds depth to this blend and is SO good for you! Add double if you'd like.

Be sure to clean out the coffee grinder well before you try another spice blend so that flavors don't meld. The top of mine comes off for easy cleaning in hot, soapy water or the dishwasher. In addition to herbs and spices, I use mine to grind flax seed for the healthy Omega 3 Fatty Acids they contain. They are delicious in cereal or added to a fruit smoothy.
