A Storm Passes By

We've been having unseasonably warm weather. One hundred degrees fahrenheit is too hot for May! The weather man said that the heat streak would end before the week-end, and he was right. Late this afternoon we had a doozy of a storm! Thunder, lightening, blowing dust, waves of rain, and winds up to 70 mph. Trees were blown down all over town and power outages resulted in many parts of the community. Driving was tricky, as traffic lights stopped working, and windshield wipers couldn't keep up with the sheets of rain. We took a drive through a nearby park late this evening to see how the tall trees there had withheld the storm. There were branches and limbs broken and fallen throughout the park, but fortunately no campers, motorhomes, nor camping tents were damaged. And the weather man was right. Our weather cooled down to more normal May temperatures.
