The gigantic wind machines that line the ridges of the wheat field hills look like miniature crosses. When you think you've seen them all, another corner and another ridge reveal more. This form of alternative energy is clean and efficient. We are getting used to the wind machines dotting the view of the hillsides, even enjoying them from our living room window, but it's taken some time to get used to. When built just a few years ago, this wind farm was the largest in the world.
