The Thinking Blogger Award

It is with appreciation and thanks that I announce
that Gracious Hospitality has been
nominated for the Thinking Blogger Award.

Thank you to Sandra at Ravenhill Cottage,
Revee at Country Roads, and Lallee at Lallee's Cottage for
your nominations.

Although blogging started for me as a simple way to express my thoughts and events in my daily life, I have found with delight that it's been a wonderful way to form friendships and find friends from all over the world who share comment interests. Reaching out and touching someone has become so much easier because of the development of 'the blog'. The rules of the Thinking Blog Award are that once nominated, you choose five other blogs for nomination.

My nominations for the Thinking Blog Award are:

1. Inland Empire Girl's blog called Gathering Around the Table shares life in northeastern Washington state. She writes that she loves life and invites you to gather around the table and chat about gardens, recipes, a good book, or a new coffee blend. Her blog is also a place to reflect on stories that have shaped our lives. Beautiful pictures, local history, and a consistent endorsement of the value of expression through the written word.

2. Salina shares that home is where the heart is in her Home Journal. A home-school mom in Idaho, she has creative ideas for parenting, crafting, and creating a cozy home. Her joy in mothering is expressed well as she tells about her children and the joy they bring to her life. She's friendly and simply a wonderful person to know.

3. Simple Katie writes from Montana about living simply in a complicated world. She's gifted in baking and home arts, organic gardening, and crafting. Additionally, she shares from her heart about care for the environment. I'm following her posts about worm composting with great interest!

4. Shereen's blog is called Waiting for Him and is pure joy to read! What an enthusiastic home-school mom! From Florida, she shares about being a stay-at-home mom to four lively children. Sewing, gardening, cooking, education, serving God, and friends are all exuberantly shared in this blog.

5. Lovella's What Matters Most is a breath of fresh air! Writing from her family farm in British Columbia, Canada --- Lovella shares tidbits of family history, good cooking, garden tips, and friendship. She exudes "friendly" in every sense of the word.

6. My alternative choice for the Thinking Blog Award is Moments, a devotional site written by my friend, Gwen. Her posts always make me think! She was not officially selected because I do her posting for her (the technical web administration). I didn't think that it would be fair to nominate her because of this, even though all the writing and blog materials she posts are her own. I am always blessed by her thoughts and think you would be as well.

The criteria for this award is to select '5 Blogs That Make Me Think'. Once tagged, should you choose to participate, please make sure you pass this list of rules to the blogs you are tagging.

The participation rules are simple:

1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think.

2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme.

3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote.

The award developer reminds: Please, remember to tag blogs with real merits, i.e. relative content, and above all - blogs that really get you thinking!

Additionally, the criteria that I established for my own nominees were: they should not have been previously tagged, so that more people could have the joy of sharing this award --- and that the blogs I selected be from my personal blogging 'friends sharing links' list. Selecting only five was difficult, as there are well over five other bloggers who make me think on a daily basis!

  1. Happy Monday,
Thank you so much for recognizing me for this award. I started out blogging to keep up with my own writing each day. Now I love it so much it is deciding which events to share and take pictures of! I will post and do my five tomorrow.
    Again, my heartfelt thanks
