Forest Fires

We saw many fire fighters this week-end. From the shores of the Pacific, to places inland, the conditions were dry and the fire danger extreme. Here a helicopter is pumping water from a temporary tank set up in a farmer's field. This helicopter pilot and crew are fighting the Tripod Fire in north central Washington state. It's the largest forest fire in the state and they don't expect it will be totally extinguished until snow falls later this year.
