Seeds and Sage

Even in the winter, interesting objects make a walk interesting. I always enjoy the beauty of dried seeds and berries. The olives on the Russian Olive trees provide much food for birds during the cold months. And isn't the lichen growing on the sage branch pretty? Sometimes I take sagebrush for granted, but it is a beautiful and fragrant bush that exhibits much beauty at each stage, year around. Although sage is famous for being 'purple', I always think of it as 'yellow'. The sage in this photo is much taller than I am!
