The Double-Bow

A storm passed through our area last evening. Rain fell in torrents! The wind blew. Huge clouds passed overhead at a rapid rate. Lightening could be seen flashing in the distance. It was amazing! We were driving home from a nearby town, so experienced the storm from the perspective of our small car. The roads were covered with so much water it looked and felt like we were gliding along on a skating rink! But then...there was the calm. As the storm left our area, the gentle patter-patter of raindrops fell. We arrived home just in time to see this beautiful double rainbow. This photo was taken from our front porch. The porch is covered, so we all stepped outside to the gentle rhythm of the rain on the rooftop...and we enjoyed the perfect double-bow.

When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”  Genesis 9:16

After the storm, a generous mug of Tazo Awake just hit the spot! It is a breakfast-style black tea known for it's malty boldness and very bright flavor. It is invigorating and second only to Tazo Joy in the list of favorite Tazo teas I enjoy.

  1. That rainbow is spectacular!
Tazo Awake in the evening would keep me awake all night. Your description of the drive and the evening were poetic and lovely.

  2. Gorgeous rainbow. I heard once that rain bows are actually circles but we can't see the other side.

  5. I'm glad you shared that photo here. It is stunning! Thankfully the dust cleared so today was a better day. Now tomorrow, I will have to begin the task of dusting. That fine dust gets in no matter what. :/ Best wishes, Tammy

  6. I love the photo. Up north we had more wind than rain which is rare for us. Now I hear snow predicted for tomorrow. Sad face.

  7. We were driving in a torrent on our way to a wedding last evening. I think it rained all night, too. Amazing double bow!!

  8. We had the storm here before it moved your way - but I didn't see any rainbow! That is absolutely gorgeous. And I always think of that Scripture verse whenever a rainbow is in the sky. It's a wonderful reminder of God's love and faithfulness to us. We 'enjoyed' part of the storm out in my little, vintage trailer. We are demolishing the interior to make way for the new and improved 'her'! The rain storm on the metal roof was something else!
