Writing Necessity

It is necessary to write, if the days are not to slip emptily by. How else, indeed, to clap the net over the butterfly of the moment? For the moment passes, it is forgotten; the mood is gone; life itself is gone. That is where the writer scores over his fellows: he catches the changes of his mind on the hop.

Vita Sackville-West

  1. Wonderful photo! Where is it?!
Love the poem too BTW !

  2. stopping by to invite you to join in the latest give away over at my blog. I hope you'll stop by and join the fun.

  3. I love this photo and want to copy down the quote.

  4. That is a perfect quote and exactly why mothers should keep their baby books up-to-date. :>

I am soooo sorry about your lost piece of embroidery (above) and can't even imagine how frustrating that must feel. Keeping fingers crossed that it'll be returned to you.

  5. That's a great quote! And so true. (Have you ever read her, BTW? She's a wonderful writer...)

I feel so sad about your embroidery. It may be a small thing, but that was a lot of time and effort...not so small after all.

Lots of good and interesting things to think about here =)
