The Yellow Hat

Do you wear a hat? What kind is it? Casual and useful as a sun shade? For dressing up? Or more? My grandmother always wore a hat to church. I thought it so old-fashioned, yet when floppy hats became popular in the 1970's I adopted the trend joyfully. What about you?

Hats make people feel good, and that's the point of them.

When I was a young boy, growing up in Durham, North Carolinga, the women in my family were truly passionate about their clothes; nothing was more beautiful to me than women dressing with the utmost, meticulous attention to accessories, shoes, handbags, hats, coats, dresses and gloves to attend Sunday church services.

  1. Sweet yellow hat...lovely shade. Some of my friends chose hats for their bridesmaids to wear, which is the only way I ever wore a hat in the 70s...except for winter ones, of course.

  2. I love this yellow hat! I recently bought a darling, vintage hat with sweet, green on it. I haven't worn it yet - but I will!
