Wands and Bottles of Lavender

Lavender bottles or wands have been used to freshen linens and impart fragrance for centuries.

Elizabethan ladies used to gather lavender and
transform it into these delightful 'wands' or 'bottles' to put in their linen cupboards.

Use them to fragrance linen or lingerie drawers, or
wherever you would use a sachet.

Your basket weaving skills can be put to use to
make one or more of these wands from the fresh lavender flowers in your garden.

You will be glad you did during the cold winter months! Squeeze your lavender wand gently and the essential oils of lavender will waft throughout your room and bring some summer tranquility to your day.

Your blog is the prettiest one that I have ever seen and all this lavender just has me drooling. Thank you so much for sharing all of your beautiful things. I have the lavender and roses that you sent me right by my bed and I am forever squeezing them to release the fragrance. Hugs, Gwen

  2. Thank you so much for your sweet comment. I am so glad you are visiting my weblog. Squeezing the lavender and roses sachet is the best thing you could do to it! It releases the oils in the lavender bud and it's fragrance fills the air. I was reading recently that 'aged' lavender is even more fragrant than fresh. . .meaning that the sachet should improve with time and age. I hope you can enjoy it for a long time.
