With a Cup of Tea

The art of Sandy Lynam Clough draws richly upon scenes that include teacups, teapots, linens, and lace. If those are things you enjoy, you will not be disappointed with this little book. "With a Cup of Tea" is a small book that features the art of Sandy Lynam Clough. Interspersed between Sandy's paintings are quotes related to tea and a genteel lifestyle. I appreciate how thoughts from Emilie Barnes are liberally sprinkled among the quotes. This book was published in 1997 by Harvest House Publishers. If you are interested in discovering what it is about tea that warms and comforts us, I think you'll enjoy being drawn into the pages of this book. It beautifully shares the ritual of taking a cup of tea for any occasion.

Do you enjoy the art of Sandy Lynam Clough? Do you have any hanging on your walls or in your bookcase?

This chintz patterned teapot was a gift from my friend, Tari. It is Royal Patrician, England.

  2. My copy of Emilie's If Teacups Could Talk is illustrated by Sandy Lynam Clough. It's gorgeous.

I believe one of the editions of the book has a different illustrator.

  3. I've probably seen her work before but just didn't know her name, so I looked her up and came across this post from another tea loving blogger:

  4. I adore this artist and had her calendar each year until she stopped doing them for health reasons, I believe. Thank you for featuring her!

  5. I had one of Sandy's Tea Parties when she was in the home tea party business with Phyllis Barkey. I have some of her pictures, books and dishes including the Friendship tea pot.

I don't have anything that I can think of from Sandy, though I do enjoy seeing her art and work.

  8. I love Sandy Lynam Clough's work! I have one of her very large paintings on my dining room wall. It was a Christmas gift from my sweetheart. Since then I found three smaller coordinating prints that are hung above the big one. One of my blog friends in Florida is a friend of Sandy's! I just love to see her work. I have a diffent little book of hers - now I'll have to watch for the one you have when I'm out thrifting!

  10. That was a darling little teapot - I used to sell it and have a "lidless one" I saved to tie to my patio tea cart.
