As a thank you to Gracious Hospitality readers, I am offering this little teacup and pansy cross-stitched needlework.  I will be drawing a name from those who enter by posting a comment on this post.  Please leave a comment here, telling either (a) something you have learned about afternoon tea by reading my blog or (b) one of your favorite memories of sharing afternoon tea with someone you care for.  In order to qualify, please sign up to be a Gracious Hospitality "Follower" on Google Friend Connect (scroll down on the left side of this page to find the "Follow" button).  Comments will be closed at noon on Friday.  Thanks!  I look forward to hearing from you!

I learned a lovely new recipe for scones that I used to create a lovely memory of birthday tea with my girlfriend.

  2. A fond memory I have of sharing tea is with you on that very hot day along the Columbia River. It is so special to have met face to face. I would love winning those little faces to remind me of you.

  3. Thank you for doing this!
    Your tea series was wonderful!
I learned that tea originated with the dutch, not the british like I assumed.
Thank you for sharing your recipes etc.
My recent memory of tea is taking it with my girls at their request in pretty tea cups along with homemade scones...a lovely memory that I will cherish!
    Blessings!

  5. I have enjoyed reading your Blog daily, have been a tea drinker for a long time. I now look at the collection of my mom's teacups and wish that she were still here to have that cup of tea with. Thanks for sharing your recipes and stories with all of us. What a beautiful cross stitch piece you have done.

  6. A tea memory I have is when my dear friend JoAnn held a Birthday Tea in my honor. I had never been to a tea party before, and she really made me feel special. I learned that it is more the spending time with people, and not rushing. Enjoying the journey, and that the specific paticulars of what you have or do not have are not the important thing. And I learned then that I want to pass that same feeling of specialness along to my daughter.

  9. Just catching up after a couple of crazy, hectic days and what do I find? A wonderful piece that you are giving away! I have learned a lot about tea from you, my friend. My happy memory of afternoon tea with a friend is when I've joined my friend Marilyn - who I think I met through your blog. We have such a good time together. We three must meet for tea somewhere. Sometime!
