Persist in Doing

That which we persist in doing becomes easier for us to do; not that the nature of the thing itself is changed, but that our power to do is increased.

Just what I needed too! I must persist in doing my bookkeeping today and I know it will become easier. I dread it every month.

Your photo of the birdhouse along with your quote reminds me of the little pair of tree swallows who made their nest in one of our birdhouses this spring.

They busily prepared their nest, courted, laid eggs all to the horror of another bird coming in one day and fighting in the box. We found the broken eggs on the ground later.

But there they were a day or so later, re-courting and doing their best to reburbish their broken nest. And as far as we can tell from their movements, they have succeeded this time as it appears they are now feeding young.

Now that's your quote in action! Talk about persistence.

What an amazing story, Brenda, and it melds the photo and quote together so well. Thank you for sharing it!

I enjoyed reading the story above, too. Tenacity at its finest.
