March, the Lion

My mother always said that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. I think that there's a lot of truth to her belief. I am always ready for spring long before spring is ready to be here! A sunny day inspires me to find my garden pruners and wheelbarrow, but the desire is squelched quickly on days like today when rain and wind exchange places, and occasionally both work together to create chaos in the garden!

How is your garden? Do you have flowers in bloom? Or possibly snow on the ground yet? Are you finding that your seed catalog is the closest you can get to gardening right now?

  1. After the biggest snowfall of the winter, we are to be in the 40s by tomorrow and possibly hit 50 this weekend.

    Can we say mud? ;)

  3. There was still snow on the ground in Chewelah and when we got home to the other side of Washington we were greeted with lots of rain. I have to admit I'm ready for a string of sunshiny days...

  4. When you wrote this it was pouring rain here. Today the sun is out and I have hope for Spring. Daffodils are blooming, Roses are beginning to sprout leaves, new buds on the blossoming trees, and tulips soon will be blooming. Ahhhh! I can breathe, the door to my office is letting in some much needed fresh air.
