Holiday Cactus

My "Christmas cactus" is a little late for Christmas, and may be done blooming by Easter, but I'm enjoying it just the same. Placing it in an unheated room with only natural night from a window really woke this zygocactus up! After five years, I think I've finally found the formula (for this specific plant, anyway). I just had to share a few more pictures. I think the tri-layered blossoms are so beautiful! Thanks for indulging me with this little "show and tell". 


You can learn more about this beautiful plant by going here. I notice that they call this a Holiday Cactus, a term I am not familiar with, obviously because of the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter seasons for blooming.

    Very pretty! I think it'll make Easter, don't you? I'm still fuzzy about the differences between the three holiday cactuses. I had just decided that mine was an Easter cactus, but looking at yours...Oh dear!

    Our Christmas cactus thrives in a south window. We had a huge one for many years and last year it mostly died. We were able to save part of it and add it to another, so now next year it should look pretty good. I love Christmas cactus. Your cactus is so pretty.

    My husband's grandmother had the most beautiful Christmas cactus. It was just huge. I wish I would have gotten a start from it before she died but I was a novice homemaker and had no knowledge of plants. Thanks for the memory!
