Sledding!


Thank you to those who commented on the 'months of the year' quilt that my mother made. Some of you have requested more pictures of other blocks, so I will try to do that as time goes on. I don't have all of them photographed yet, but will try to accomplish that soon.

This is the quilt block for January. It seems appropriate with all the snow we've had recently. The block features appliqué, a snowman button, and a satin ribbon with French knots adorning it. Mom made this quilt to be used as a wall-hanging rather than a bed cover. You can probably note that the quilting done is minimal (in the ditch machine stitching and hand stitching around elements used in the design).

  2. I love the colors and details for this month. I am a snowman collector so that caught my eye too. We had about a foot of snow earlier today, but now it is raining. Who knows what tomorrow will bring!
