The Season of JOY

This is such a busy time of year! I admire my friends who are ready for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. They are the ones who plan ahead and seem to always be organized. I tend to live in the moment, savoring the last of Thanksgiving before heading into a family birthday and then eventually Christmas. Every year I purpose to change, but I never do. I suppose that deep down I enjoy the preparation involved in the Christmas festivities. This week, the tree has been bought and is waiting for lights and decorations. Menu ideas are being written on lists for Christmas day. Plans are being made for out of town guests. And last minute Christmas presents wait to be bought. Candy Cane Lane tea is being enjoyed by cupsful! This really is the season of JOY!

  1. Your photo is beautiful and serene. It is indeed a season of great Joy! but perhaps overwhelming at times. The mere thought of sitting on the white wicker rocker and enjoying tea with you is simply peaceful and relaxing!

  2. Yes, it is the season for JOY. Savor the moments. Now if I didn't have a tea party or two coming up, I would be too. Next week I will play and bake for us.

  3. We all have our different ways of doing things and there is no right nor wrong way. I have so enjoyed having the tree decorated early so that I can sit by it in the blue hour and read and savor the time. It's just before John arrives home for the evening and I am very selfishly calling it "my time."

  4. Yes, it IS a season of Joy! And it's important to savor every moment before it's over. Take heart, my friend, you're not the only one who is busily making plans and getting ready. We did all of our Christmas shopping before our trip to Leavenworth, came home with colds and now we're working a bit slower to keep up with daily life. But we will be ready for the season - simpler, but ready!
