"The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves and not to twist them with our own image, otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them."
Great quote! Over the years, as I have come to truly love and accept who I am, I have found the need to relinquish a few relationships for this very reason. I realized, albeit too late, that some of my relationships were built on my being and doing what my friends wanted me to be or do. Thank God for maturity and the ability to simply be me. The person who sometimes laughs too loud or too often or at the wrong time. The person who talks with her hands or talks to much. The person that gets so excited about everything, obsessess over new things and isn't phased by disagreements or other minor indescretions. Just me.

What a wonderful quote, and the photo with it is just delightful. It makes me want to go twirl on the grass.
ReplyDeletePicked up my first lavender plant for the garden today. I'd love to turn 1/3 of my backyard into a lavender farm.
ReplyDeleteJust love the quote!!! And the photo is so perfect for that twist mentioned in it.

ReplyDeleteWonderful photograph of your nieces (I think) and what a profound thought. I think we can be too guilty of doing the very thing that it warns us of.
