Thank You & Ideas

A quick note to say 'thank you' to blog-a-thon participants, for such interesting, informative, and creative posts on our 'tea' theme. I know this week's topic has been quite difficult (as can be observed by fewer participants this week). But, next week's topic is much easier: teapots. I'm sure things will pick up again with the more user friendly topic. Thank you for the supportive and encouraging comments from participants and those reading the blog-a-thon posts. Some of you have expressed a desire to continue on with a new topic once the tea event is done. I'm willing to host another theme, but would appreciate feed-back on topics you might enjoy. If you could just drop me a quick comment here with your ideas, maybe we can collectively come up with something as interesting and as fun to blog about together.

Thank you, all, for being such an inspiration to me!!!!

The teatime pictured is one from a tea Aunt Cella hosted on her front porch on a sunny day last December.

  1. Silly me! I thought this was the last week, so that is why I said my "Good-byes" in closing! LOL! I am glad there is another week and do hope you will host another blog-a-thon! I'm sure it is time consuming, but you have done an excellant job, and it is such a great avenue for meeting other bloggers! Maybe we could do a "textile blog-a-thon"... Favorite quilts, things we have created/sewn, kitchen towels, tablecloths and settings, favorite or special dress or outfit, bedding besides quilts, a textile that represents a special memory or person, window treatments of fabric, your collections of fabrics....etc... Just an idea that popped into my head.

Thank you for the kind comments on my posts! They mean so much! :)

  2. You know I want you to host another blog-a-thon....for an idea...what about heritage items...ie: pictures, items worn by ancentors, item handed down by family members, toys from our childhood, cars from our past....
    I don't know...just an idea

  3. I would like to continue on as well. I missed the week with decorating and once searched your blog for canisters. In Australia in the 1960s everyone had canisters with flour, sugar, tea. Maybe a post idea.

There are some carnivals out there so maybe something slightly different to those. I noticed yesterday Vintage Thingies Thursdays, Sincerely 'Fro Me to You, Talk About Tuesday. I loved the farmgirl one, it finished recently. That was hosted by Garden Goose.

Does simplicity appeal? I have been reading the Down-to-Earth blog, and Little Jenny Wren.

I love the concept of Weekend Herb Blogging, but I am not really a foodie blogger. Anything you come up with will be lovely, I'm sure.

Thank you for this blog-a-thon, it has brought happiness to my days.

Everyone here has been very nice.

  4. My favorite tea room was the one my daughter, granddaughter, and I went to a few years ago when I visited them. It doesn't exist, anymore.

I'm going to take a blog break starting Saturday (actually, I'm staying away from the COMPUTER for a week) but I'll post pics of teapots on Friday...

    Love this blog a thon.

  6. It might be nice to feature tea related items - tea accessories, jewelry, fabrics, and other gifts.

  7. What about an outdoor hospitality theme for the summer? It could feature porches, patios, gazebos... garden parties, picnics, and cookouts. Something like that might be fun!

  9. I second Karla's idea. Next week I'll be hosting a Garden Tea here at my cottage tearoom and I could have sure used some helpful ideas. Decorating, organizing, favors, menu ideas, etc. Summer is an excellent time to entertain since those of us living in cottages can use the great outdoors for entertaining our guests.

Thank you so much for a WONDERFUL blog-a-thon. I've enjoyed it immensely!

  10. Thank you for hosting the blogathon, and for offering to do more! I have really enjoyed participating and seeing all the others. I hope to comment on all of them soon!

I like the ideas that are coming in, can't wait to see what you come up with. All I can suggest is maybe have a Dolly-Teddybear-Figurine day/week. I have been planning to feature mine this summer.

  11. Thank you so much for hosting this. It has been so much fun and I have met some lovely ladies!

On my blog, I post about tea every Tuesday (Tea-for-Two-sday). I am too new to host anything - maybe you would want to do the same and allow people to link up on Tuesdays with any kind of post to do with tea?

    Just a thought...

Anything you do will be wonderful!
