Calm, Peace, & Solitude
I am sitting in the blue chair
listening to this stillness.
The only sound the occasional
gurgle of tea coming out of the pot
and into the cup.
How can this be?
Such calm, such peace, such solitude
in this world of woe.
From 'The Sixth of January' by David Budbill
It is a world of woe, isn't it?

ReplyDeleteHi LaTeaDah,
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your tea and hope it helps to lift you up :0)
I am headed for the kitchen right now to make a cup of tea! Then I'll put my feet up, read my Victoria magazine, smile and sip my tea. Thanks for the reminded that I need to do that right now!

Makes me think of what Jesus said, "my peace I leave with you, not as the world gives give I to you." It is something to seek.

I am picturing the blue chair and knowing it is beckoning with my next cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteA cup of tea gives us an excuse to just sit, enjoy, reflect on the wonderful things that God has given us and not think about this world of woe. Now, I just need to practise what I preach, lol!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh...a breath of calm...thank you!
ReplyDeleteHow true! Believe us, there are days that we can't wait to have our tea! Make everything right in the world, or so it seems :)
